As one of the most promising sectors in Egypt, the financial services sector is poised for huge growth

OIH through its investments aims to become the largest financial services provider in emerging markets through steadily expanding our services portfolio and our geographical presence.

In late 2015, OIH acquired a controlling stake in Beltone Financial Holding, Egypt’s largest asset manager with 25 billion EGP in assets under management and over 100 billion EGP in M&A and capital market transactions.
Since then, Beltone has executed an ambitious turn around growing its existing business lines as well as expanding the company’s offerings both locally and internationally with the aim of creating a Middle East based global investment bank.

In 2016 OIH supported Beltone in the acquisition of majority shares of Auerbach Grayson, a New York-based brokerage and placement agent with access to over 125 markets taking the first step in creating a global investment bank.

While working on expanding globally, Beltone continues to grow its presence locally, increasing its brokerage market share from 2.1% to 5.2% and accordingly its ranking from 18th to 2nd, and aggressively growing its existing business lines.

Meanwhile, Beltone also focuses on expanding business lines locally by considering acquisition opportunities in the leasing and consumer finance sectors in Egypt and internationally through new acquisitions and diversifying the product offering beyond equities.

In December 2018, OIH acquired a 30% stake of Sarwa Capital, a leading provider of consumer and structured finance solutions. Sarwa is the largest player in Egypt’s nascent debt capital markets, helping structure, arrange and underwrite debt transactions for companies that need to access debt capital markets to fund growth, manage risk, improve financial standing and raise liquidity.
Sarwa manages a number of companies offering a full range of products and services including auto credit, insurance and consumer finance (all targeting the retail market) as well as structured debt advisory, arrangement, and underwriting for corporate clients.
